Remote development
Use an Adria sandbox as your daily development computer.
Keep your terminal and browser on your computer while the repository, tools, and services run together in a sandbox. This walkthrough uses a Bun web project with a development server on port 3000; use your project's commands and port.
Start your development computer
After installing the CLI and signing in, run locally from your repository:
cube start feature/web-appSandbox: install dependencies and inspect the checkout:
bun install
git statusWork in this shell, or launch a coding agent. Type exit to
return to your local terminal when you are ready to open another remote terminal.
Run the application
Local:
cube connect feature/web-app --tmux webSandbox:
bun run devDetach with Ctrl+B, then D. The server keeps running while the sandbox runs.
Preview and test
Local: open the application in your browser:
cube open 3000 --session feature/web-appKeep the tunnel running. In another local terminal, run the project's tests:
cube connect feature/web-app --command 'bun test'Use the remote browser when the browser itself needs to run inside the sandbox, or Docker for containerized dependencies.
Return to the work later
Review and push changes inside the sandbox using your normal Git workflow. When you stop for the day, run locally:
cube pause feature/web-appThe disk keeps your checkout and dependencies. Later, reconnect:
cube connect feature/web-appRestart the server and other processes, then reopen the preview tunnel. See Lifecycle for usage and permanent deletion.
